Политическая роль культа Девы Марии в орденской Пруссии в XIV–XV веках

Abstract

В этой статье рассматриваются правовые и политические аспекты культа Девы Марии в тевтонской Пруссии в 14 и 15 веках. Автор утверждает, что тевтонские рыцари считали Святую Деву владычицей Пруссии. Эта тевтонская концепция культа Девы Марии должна была объединить прусское общество с орденом, а также укрепить авторитет рыцарей как хозяев страны. Однако в связи с важными изменениями в христианстве в 14 и 15 веках эта концепция становилась все более анахроничной. Спор между прусскими сословиями и Тевтонским орденом о принципах управления страной, достигший своего апогея в середине 15 века, можно рассматривать как столкновение по поводу природы культа Девы Марии.

This article addresses the legal and political aspects of the cult of the Virgin Mary in Teutonic Prussia in the 14 and 15 centuries. The author contends that the Teutonic Knights considered the Holy Virgin the sovereign of Prussia. This Teutonic concept of the cult of the Virgin Mary was to consolidate Prussian society with the Order, as well as to strengthen the authority of the Knights as the country’s masters. However, in regard to important changes within Christianity in the 14 and 15 centuries, this concept grew ever more anachronistic. The dispute between the Prussian estates and the Teutonic Order over the principles for governing the country, a dispute that reached its crescendo in the mid-15 century, may be treated as a clash over the nature of the cult of the Virgin Mary.
