Abstract:	A new feather mite species Loriprotolichus vini sp. n. (Pterolichidae: Pterolichinae) is described from the ultramarine lorikeet Vini ultramarina (Kuhl, 1920) (Psittacidae: Loriinae), an endemic parrot of the Marquesas Islands. A key to known species of the genus Loriprotolichus Mironov et Dabert, 2007 is provided.
