With what the term translation in the special text begins?

Abstract

В данной статье делается попытка смоделировать действия переводчика в ситуации перевода термина в специальном тексте. Обоснование методики предпереводческого анализа построено на интеграции лингвистического знания двойственной природы термина-знака, специального знания и практики перевода. Своеобразным буфером, соединяющим теорию и практику перевода, служит понятие «переводческой ошибки», которое является отправной точкой в оценке качества перевода. Результаты анализа позволяют сделать вывод о том, что перевод термина в тексте начинается с предпереводческого анализа текста, который предполагает стратификацию лексики в тексте, последовательное проведение лингвистического (словообразовательного, морфологического) и логико-понятийного (дефиниционного родовидового, категориального, контрастивного) анализа всех терминов.

This article attempts to model the translator’s actions in the situation of scientific term translation when both the linguist, and future linguist-translator and the expert could use it. Justification of the «pretranslation» analysis technique is based on integration of the linguistic knowledge of the term sign dual nature, scientific sphere knowledge and a translation practice. As the peculiar buffer connecting translation theory and translation practice serves the concept «translation mistake» which is a starting point in a translation quality assessment. The pretranslation analysis of the special text, considering the subject and the purpose of our research, we limit to the special lexicon analysis and we include in it 4 stages: selection and stratification of all «potential» terms in the text; linguistic analysis of a language form of the term; definitional (conceptual) analysis of the term; search and selection of the dictionary translation equivalence (kontrastive componential analysis). The results of the analysis has shown that the translation of the term in text starts with the text`s pre-translation analysis, that pessuposes stratification of the lexis, successive linguistic (word-forming, morphological) and logic-and-notional (definitional generic, categorical, sontrastive) analisis of all the terms.
