Всё перекаты...: рецензия на статью А. А. Бурыкина

Abstract

Для въедливого переводоведа не существует идеального перевода из-за принципиальной разницы языков и культур. Отсюда вытекает одна из главных проблем – безэквивалентная лексика. Для перевода художественные тексты, особенно поэтические, с одной стороны проще других жанров изза универсальности чувств, эмоций и душевных состояний, а с другой – сложнее изза необходимости отразить авторский стиль и ритм. Это характерно и для текстов бардовских песен, в том числе А. Городницкого «Перекаты», успешный перевод которой сделан А. А. Бурыкиным. Автору удалось не только правдиво передать фактическую информацию, но и сделать стиль автора и ритм песни узнаваемыми. В переводе имеется несколько нарушений канонов, в частности перекаты – rifts. Русское слово подразумевает преодоление преграды, а английское – её обход. Однако эти отклонения полностью оправданы для достижения поставленной переводчиком цели.

For a hypercritical specialist in translation studies there is no ideal translation because of considerable differences in languages and cultures. These differences trigger one of the major challenges – culture-specific vocabulary. For translation, literature, especially poetry, on the one hand, is simpler than other genres due to the universal patterns of feelings, emotions and state of mind, but on the other hand, it is more challenging due to the necessity to reflect a poet’s style and rhythm. This is true about bard song texts, particularly, the text of the «Rifts» song by A. Gorodnitsky whose successful translation was performed by A. A. Burykin. The translator not only managed to preserve factual information but made the author’s style and the rhythmic pattern recognizable. There are some violations of canonical techniques, particularly in translating perekaty as rifts. The semantics of the Russian word presupposes overcoming obstacles while the chosen English equivalent contains the meaning of escaping obstacles. However, such deviations are fully justified for achieving the translator’s purpose.
