Abstract: Приведены результаты археологического исследования гончарных традиций андроновского населения поселка Фирсово-XV.
Firsovo-XV is a monument of different times which was situated in Pervomay district of the Altai region. Andronovo ceramic complex of Firsovo-XV ornamental scheme is characterized by the predominance of stamping technique. Among the ornaments there were often used horizontal and vertical “herringbones”, grooves, pit indentations and zigzags. The pots were often decorated in geometric style by triangles, festoons and meanders. The purpose of work is reconstruction of the preparatory stage of technological process of the potter tradition in the Andronovo Firsovo-XV settlement. The research was conducted in the frameworks of historic-cultural approach by method, developed by A.A. Bobrinsky. Selected samples were analyzed in two steps: selection of an initial material and preparation of molding compounds (determinations were made by D.S. Leontieva and N.F. Stepanova). For the technical-technological analysis there were selected fragments from 39 vessels. The feedstock selection study shows that two kinds of initial materials were used: ferruginous clay (94.9%) and silty clay (5.1%), although preference was given to ferruginous clay. Feedstock differs by its ductility. Combinations of different kinds of additives and initial material (IM) allowed to identify the following recipes of molding compounds: IM + fireclay + organic solution (69.2%), IM + fireclay (28.2%), IM + fireclay + manure (2.6%). Fixed recipes demonstrate a stable tradition of the fireclay introduction into the molding mass. It exists in the fireclay molding mass which generally indicated the dominant fireclay tradition at the considered monument.
