Abstract: Two new species of the feather mite subfamily Proctophyllodinae (Astigmata: Proctophyllodidae) are described from suboscine passeriform birds (Passeriformes) in Chile: Anisophyllodes elaeniae sp. n. from Elaenia albiceps (Orbigney et Lafresnaye, 1837) (Tyrannidae) and Tanyphyllodes pteroptochi sp. n. from Pteroptochos tarnii (King, 1831) (Rhinocryptidae). Brief discussions of the main diagnostic features and species content of the genera Anisophyllodes Atyeo, 1967 and Tanyphyllodes Atyeo, 1966 are provided.
