This article studies interdisciplinary approaches to the understanding of competition and competitiveness, which allows revealing their personal sociological and psychological correlations and interrelation. At the essential level, within the framework of the concept of «collective mental programming» by G. Hofstede and socio-cultural genotype, the author analyzes the «motivational stimulus» of competitiveness at the levels of «quasi», «ratio», «hyper», «avoidance», and «selfdevelopment». The variety of motivational stimuli is determined both by the great attention of society and the state to contemporary problems of competition, and by the necessity of its implementation at the organizational level. The author analyzes the research strategies, value aspects of the essential embodiment of competitiveness, and the role of the sociocultural genotype of the individual in this process. This article provides an empirical analysis of the level of «subject» development of competition (industries and organizations) based on the results of an intelligence study of the competitiveness of working youth in the Tyumen Region.en
