Abstract: Отличительные черты исторической культуры эпохи Каролингов проанализированы в этой статье на примере «Vita Hludowici». Автор рассматривал историографию как форму самоинтерпретации эпохи.
The author considered historiography as a form of an epoch self interpretation. Distinguishing features of historical culture of Carolingian age are analysed in this article by the example of Vita Hludowici by Astronom. It is studied successively the main purpose of the Vita writing, methods and ways which Astronom used in his work with sources, the main regulations of writing-text construction. Astronomy wanted to create a model of imitation for the all Christians. The image of emperor was ideal and statical. It was made under the influence of biblical and hagiographical traditions, of monastic ethics and norms of prince s armed force behaviour. Astronomy preferred writing sources to the all other ones. He edited them lightly by some insertions but saved the original structure and chronology.
