Особенности художественного перевода сложных эпитетов (на примере романа О. Уайльда «Портрет Дориана Грея»)

Abstract

Статья рассматривает особенности перевода сложных эпитетов в романе Оскара Уайльда «Портрет Дориана Грея». В процессе исследования было установлено, что все найденные сложные (составные) эпитеты в романе можно поделить на 5 моделей по структурному типу и 7 смысловых категорий. В статье приведено большое количество примеров сложных эпитетов на английском языке с переводом на русский язык в исполнении Марии Абкиной. Рассмотрены виды переводческих трансформаций сложных эпитетов. Сделаны выводы о том, какие модели, смысловые категории и переводческие приемы получили наибольшее распространение.

The article considers the peculiarities of the literary translation of the compound epithets in the novel “The Picture of Dorian Gray” by Oscar Wilde. During the research it was established that all founded compound epithets in the novel can be divided into five models according to the structural type and seven semantic categories. The article gives a great number of examples of the compound epithets in the English language with their translation into the Russian language performed by Maria Abkina. Some modes of translation transformations of the compound epithets are considered. Finally, the author underlines the most popular models, semantic categories and translation techniques.
