Итоги проверки тюменских училищ в 1853 г.

Abstract

The aims of this study include analyzing the state of educational institutions in Tyumen in the middle of the 19th century on the example of the Tyumen Uyezd School, Znamensky and Voznesensky parish schools; specifying the number of students in educational institutions, the quality of teaching, and the results of academic achievement; and disclosing the role of provincial officials who served in the education system to control the educational process. The study has revealed archival materials on the history of education of Tyumen, which helped to describe the education process in a number of the city’s educational institutions. Special interest lies in the information on the textbooks and manuals used in the implementation of training programs. The author has specified the system for assessing the level of knowledge of students in subjects, and established the sections that have been put to the control. He has also demonstrated the role of P. M. Chegirintsov in the organization of inspections, and clarified the form of documentation on the example of reports and their sections. In addition, this article lists the amounts of money allocated for financing educational institutions, the state of their material base, and libraries. The author concludes that the education system of Tyumen at the time was developing at a slow pace. The number of students was small. The author presents the little-known characteristics of teachers, especially N. A. Abramov, one of the major organizers of the education system in Tobolsk gubernia.

Цель исследования была сформулирована так: проанализировать состояние учебных заведений г. Тюмени в середине XIX в. на примере Тюменского уездного училища, Знаменского и Вознесенского приходских училищ. Уточнить численность учащихся в учебных заведениях, качество преподавания и итоги успеваемости. Раскрыть роль губернских чиновников, служивших в системе образования по контролю учебного процесса. В результате исследования выявлены архивные материалы по истории образования Тюмени. С опорой на них раскрыт процесс образования в ряде учебных заведений города. Закономерный интерес представляют сведения об учебниках и пособиях, которые применялись при реализации программ обучения. Уточнена система оценивания уровня знаний учащихся по предметам, установлены разделы, которые выносились на контроль. Показана роль П. М. Чегиринцова в организации инспекций, на примере отчетов и их разделов выяснена форма делопроизводственной документации. Показаны суммы, выделяемые на финансирование учебных заведений, состояние их материальной базы, библиотек. Сделаны выводы о том, что система образования г. Тюмени в указанное время развивалась медленными темпами. Численность учащихся была небольшая. Уточнены малоизвестные характеристики учителей, прежде всего одного из крупных организаторов системы образования Тобольской губернии Н. А. Абрамова.
